As laboratory scientists and managers, we understand that access to industrial experience help students clarify their career goals, develop visions and skills beneficial to their future careers, and maximize their learning experience at school. Initiated by the collaboration with National University of Singapore - American Chemical Society Student Chapter (NUS ACSSC) Industrial Strategy Group, AOAC SEA Training of Young Scientists Working Group (ToYS WG) is driving an initiative to provide lab tours to university students.
AOAC SEA Student Lab Tours aim to provide industrial exposure to university students with an emphasis on kinds of working environments and bridge the gap between curriculum and industry. In the 1st phase, AOAC SEA Student Lab Tours will arrange tour hosts located in Singapore for NUS students. Once this is successful, we will expand to the 2nd phase for other countries and universities.
If you and your institution would like to meet with the next generation talents, guide them on how to thrive at institutions like yours, and help them see how the pieces fit together, volunteer to be a host of the lab tour and/or sponsor for this initiative. Join us to make a positive impact through this corporate social responsibilities (CSR) initiative! |
